Valves

Dimensionally stable engineering plastics for valve applications

Dimensionally stable engineering plastics are used across industries in high-performance valve applications. Plastic valve materials are resistant to moisture and abrasion, and can be reliably machined to tight tolerance.

Moisture-resistant advanced polymer valve materials

Valves control the flow of liquids, gases, and other fluids through infrastructure like pipes, holds, and other enclosures. For industrial plastic valves, the ability to maintain a seal that prevents or partially obstructs flow is essential, which means that valve components must be dimensionally stable and resistant to wear.

These advanced polymers help solve common challenges in valve applications, including swelling due to moisture absorption, slippage due to abrasion, and part failure due to wear. Parts made with advanced plastics like those discussed here exhibit strong dimensional stability and other essential properties, maintaining form and function throughout an extended service life.

Typical Applications:

  • Precise metering with a kettle gate drop-down valve (explosive fill chambers)
  • Moisture-resistant pistons and valve spools (food & beverage liquid filling machines)
  • Moisture resistant valves for firefighting foam injection systems (firefighting proportioner units)
  • Dimensionally stable dosing valves (beef processing equipment)
  • Emergency diesel shutoff valves (construction & heavy equipment)
