ESD Plastics

ESD Plastics — Industrial Safety | Semiconductor & Electronics

In the technology and manufacturing industries, static electricity can cause serious issues — from damaging sensitive electronic components to creating fire hazards. ESD plastics are specially designed materials that prevent static buildup and safely dissipate electrical charges, protecting electronics, industrial processes, and workers from unexpected discharges.

Based on their surface resistance, they are classified as:

  • Anti-static. Limit static charge accumulation.
  • Dissipative. Gradually disperse charges to prevent sudden discharges.
  • Conductive. Allow rapid charge dissipation.

Advantages

  • Protect electronic devices. Prevent damage to semiconductors, microchips and electronic components.
  • Enhance industrial safety. Reduce ignition risks in environments with flammable materials.
  • Ensure production reliability. Protect critical processes from static electricity and maintain product quality.

Food Grade

TIVAR™ ESD FG UHMW-PE (Food Grade) is an electrostatic dissipative, carbon-filled grade that protects against electrical charge build-up on wear surfaces. In addition to these characteristics, components made from this material exhibit excellent corrosion resistance and zero moisture absorption in robotic and conveyor equipment parts that are especially sensitive to electrical charge build-up. Due to these properties and its EU 10/2011 food compliance, this TIVAR™ UHMW-PE grade is often favored as a solution in chain guides, chute liners, guide rails, wear stripe, transfer plates, bearings and assembly conveyor components.
