Compared with virgin PA66, the 30% glass fiber-reinforced and heat-stabilized nylon grade Nylatron™ GF30/Ertalon™ 66 GF30 PA66 offers increased strength, stiffness, creep resistance and dimensional stability. The material exhibits good mechanical damping abilities and sliding performance, while also retaining excellent wear resistance at higher maximum service temperatures. Additionally, this reinforced PA66 is electrically insulative, resistant to high-energy radiation and easy to machine.

Ertalon™ 4.6 PA46 shapes are characterized by their superior heat aging resistance and ability to retain their outstanding stiffness and creep resistance over a wide range of temperatures. Due to these unique capabilities, Nylatron™ 4.6 /Ertalon™ 4.6 PA46 components excel in extreme environments where PA6, PA66, POM and PET materials typically fall short. Additional application examples include bushings, bearings, gears, pulleys, sheaves, wear pads, valve seats, seals and conveyor wear components.
Ertalon™ 6 SA FG PA6 (Food Grade) exhibits a powerful combination of mechanical strength, stiffness and toughness, as well as mechanical damping properties and resistance to creep and wear. Beyond its mechanical performance, this food grade nylon possesses excellent electrical insulating properties and outstanding chemical resistance. Due to these properties and this grade’s FDA (21 CFR § 177.1500) and EU 10/2011 food compliancy, Ertalon™ 6SA FG PA6 is often specified for screw machined electrical insulators, bushings, bearings, gears, roller wheels, star wheels and seals.
Ertalon™ 6 SA PA6 exhibits a great combination of mechanical strength, stiffness, toughness, mechanical damping properties, as well as creep and wear resistance. In addition to these characteristics, this particular grade possesses excellent electrical insulating properties and outstanding chemical resistance capabilities. For these reasons, Ertalon™ 6 SA PA6 is often referred to as a “general purpose” grade for mechanical construction and maintenance applications.
Ertalon™ 6 XAU+ PA6 is a heat-stabilized cast nylon grade with a very dense and highly crystalline structure. Compared to conventional extruded or cast nylons, Ertalon™ 6 XAU+ PA6 offers superior heat aging performance in air, which allows this material to perform at higher continuous service temperatures. Due to these characteristics, Ertalon™ 6 XAU+ PA components are often recommended for bearings and other mechanical parts that are subject to wear and that are operating for long periods of time at temperatures over 60°C (140°F).
Ertalon™ 6PLA FG PA6 (Food Grade) unmodified shapes offer one of the highest strength and hardness of all nylon 6 grades and also exhibit great creep and wear resistance, heat aging properties and machinability capabilities. The grade is FDA 21 CFR § 177.1500 and EU 10/2011 food contact compliant as well. Components can be found throughout the food processing and packaging industry as gears, rollers, wheel, bearings and conveyor wear parts.
Ertalon™ 66SA FG PA66 (Food Grade) are unmodified, food grade shapes characterized by their superior combination of strength and toughness. Compared to other unmodified nylons, components from this grade possess superior mechanical strength, stiffness and wear resistance, as well as one of the highest melting points of all PA66 materials. Due to these properties and this grade’s FDA (21 CFR § 177.1500) and EU 10/2011 food compliancy, this PA66 material is often specified for screw machined electrical insulators, bushings, bearings, gears, roller wheels, star wheels and seals.
